Slow Food Santa Fe is a local chapter of a global, grassroots Slow Food organization. We are about linking the pleasure of good food with a commitment to our local community and the environment.

We get together to cook and share meals, and to celebrate and learn about food traditions and issues. We enjoy learning about all aspects of food production and preparation as well as different food traditions, including those of the local pueblos in northern New Mexico. Each month we gather at a private home for a combination bookclub and potluck we call "Dinner and a Book". Our events often have an education component in addition to promoting conviviality, and encourage support for local food producers and purveyors in and around Santa Fe including area farms and local businesses.

For many years, we’ve been a place to connect with joy over food. Today, we are working on ways to focus more of our energy on joy and justice in our local and global community. Food justice means good, clean, fair food for all, which has been the axiom for the global Slow Food movement since its origin.
